LADD’s Remote Support program is powered by LADD’s proprietary & award-winning Smart Living Systems. We utilize customized smart home technology, and wearable devices to create customized, predictive supports that help people with developmental disabilities live more independent lives. Our system is designed to be predictive, not reactive and is staffed locally by LADD. Our staff get to know the individuals and we do not set limits on how long we talk. We are proactive in our communication should that be needed.

LOCATION

LADD Remote Supports can take place anywhere a person lives in Ohio. People receiving remote support from LADD in Hamilton County may receive back-up support from LADD or any other provider of choice. People receiving LADD Remote support outside of Hamilton County will need to have a local back-up support provider.

LADD SMART HOMES POWERED BY SMART LIVING SYSTEMS

LADD’s smart homes are staffed with in-person support and remote support powered by Smart Living Systems. LADD’s smart homes are state-of-the-art technology enabled homes, in walkable neighborhoods, close to bus stops, with sidewalks that lead to places where people can shop and work. LADD’s smart homes are in clusters of at least three homes within a five-minute drive for in-person staff. The level and type (remote or in-person) of staffing for each house is determined by Individual Service Plans (ISP) developed for each person that addresses support needs and ensures their health and safety while living in the community.

LOCATION

LADD has clusters of homes located in Anderson Township and Blue Ash. LADD will open three additional clusters of homes in 2027 in Hyde Park, Springfield Township, and Colerain Township.

Cost

Most of LADD’s smart homes are licensed homes. Payment for room and board is received through the license associated with LADD’s residential setting. For unlicensed homes rent is determined based on income of the person receiving the services.

Services can be funded through: • Level One, and Individual Options Waiver • Supported Living Services through County Board DD Services • Private Pay

Since 1975, LADD has been an essential part of the greater Cincinnati community, providing quality housing and developmental disability services. We are currently piloting an innovative new service model called Smart Living by LADD that utilizes smart homes, tech-enabled supports and a geographic based teams to support adults with developmental disabilities to live their best life. The Smart Living system has proven to increase independence for adults with developmental disabilities while utilizing a leaner more effective staffing model.

Since LADD launched the service in 2020, people using LADD’s tech-enabled smart living supports have safely decreased staffing by 65%, while increasing independence.

Adults with developmental disabilities are living longer, healthier, more meaningful lives, yet traditional nursing facilities lack staff trained in the needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

LADD is committed to supporting you for the entirety of your adult life. Through increased staff training and the assistance of outside providers coming into the home, LADD is successfully supporting people who have high age-related needs. Our Senior Living at Victory Parkway offers support for Dementia and Memory Care, Health and Wellness services, Nursing services, as well as modified services and living environments to meet aging needs for people ages 55 and older.

LOCATION

Senior Living at Victory Parkway is in North Avondale. The property is next to the LADD Center for Community Engagement and is built on four acres of land surrounded by Cincinnati Parks Green Space.

Cost

HOUSING COST Payment for room and board is received through the license associated with LADD’s residential setting. The amount a resident contributes varies and is dependent on their income to cover a portion of the living expenses. Room and board at Victory Parkway are defined in the rules of the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities for licenses facilities and includes the following items: utilities, food as well as supplies and equipment used for food storage and preparation, maintenance of home and grounds, basic medical and first aid supplies, personal hygiene supplies, household supplies, clothing allowance.

Payment Options

Any potential resident must also have, or be eligible for, a Home Individual Options (IO) waiver through DODD to cover the expense of supportive services.

Find-A-Way & Geier Apartments

Apartments

Find-A-Way and Margaret B. Geier Apartments are two 40-unit apartment buildings close to shopping areas, banks, churches, recreation facilities and on bus routes. All apartments are one-bedroom apartments that include a fully-equipped kitchen, living room and full bath. Each building has fully accessible common areas, an indoor recreation room, and an outdoor garden area. Buildings have a live-in property manager and service coordination through LADD. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides rental subsidies for both buildings. Accessible units are available at each location. LADD is available to provide both in-person and remote supports in both Find-a-Way and Geier Apts.

Cost

These buildings are HUD subsidized so each individual's rent is based on 30% of their income and recertified annually.

Community Supported Living (CSL)

Living

While living in your own home or family residence, LADD’s Community Supported Living Program offers adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to learn and strengthen independent living skills. You also learn how to live and access different services in the community.

Depending on your needs, services range from drop-in support for a few hours each week. This is a good option if you are just starting services and working on developing additional skills before moving out. It is also a good option if you are aging in your own home and need increased in-person staffing to remain independent.

HLADD – SHARED LIVING AND RESPITE

HLADD

HLADD provides options for adults with developmental disabilities who would prefer to live in a more family-centric environment. The HLADD Program offers the support you need while living with a family member or a non-related caregiver. All HLADD providers are certified to provide services through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD).

Additionally, HLADD provides respite services, which includes planned or emergency temporary care and support. Services occur in a shared-living provider’s home to provide a short-term break to primary caregivers.

SOAR – Services for the Ownership and Acquisition of Residences

SOAR

The SOAR (Services for the Ownership and Acquisition of Residences) program helps you find a place to live and helps you navigate the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program — a federal housing program that assists low-income individuals and families afford housing in the private market. More than 90% of people served by LADD’s SOAR housing program maintain their housing after a year.

SOAR provides the following resources:

Streamline the HCV process for new applicants
Maintain continued HCV participation
Facilitate the annual recertification process
Client-Landlord mediation
HCV program compliance
