How long have you been opening your home to adults with developmental disabilities or living with someone with a developmental disability?
Little bit over 10 years.
What advice do you wish you received when you first started providing services?
It can be tough.
What is the hardest part about the work you do?
Adapting to each individual.
What is the best part about the work you do?
Seeing them achieve things that they could not do before.
What is a dream that you have for yourself?
Being able to help more people.
What is the dream you have for the person(s) you are supporting?
Being a little more independent.
Who do you consider a hero and why?
I would say my mother because she was able to balance a family, work, and being married alone with sacrificing for everyone and still lived a good life in spite of a lot of hard times.
