WHAT: Hamilton County Commissioners will join LADD and Cincinnati Development Fund to celebrate the opening of the first of nine new Smart Living Homes for adults with developmental disabilities.
The opening is part of Hamilton County’s $4 million partnership with LADD to expand affordable, accessible housing options. The nine-home development represents an approximately $10 million investment and, once complete, will provide housing for 36 residents with developmental disabilities.
The event will include brief remarks, a ribbon cutting, tours of the new home and refreshments.

WHERE: Leebrook House in Springfield Township, 9422 Leebrook Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45231
BACKGROUND: The Smart Living Home model combines universal design, smart-home technology and in-person LADD staff support to help residents live independently, safely and affordably.
The new homes are being developed in Springfield Township, Colerain Township and Hyde Park, with openings continuing through the remainder of 2026 and throughout 2027. Cincinnati Development Fund is helping finance the project.
Each fully furnished home includes accessibility-focused and energy-efficient features such as:
· ADA-accessible bathrooms
· Induction stoves and smart appliances
· Motion and water sensors for added safety
· Energy-efficient lighting and low-flow plumbing fixtures
· Smart refrigerators and easy-to-use dishwashers
· Sensory and fitness rooms
The homes are also located near sidewalks and public transportation to help residents remain connected to jobs, shopping and community activities.
